I've been using Camtasia studio now since verison 3, and I've done hundreds of screen casts...
I really havent found any other peice of software that matches this one...
btw, did you know you should set your audio to 122Mhz with a 48bit rate? This will help your viewers watch the video without any problems.
Also, don't forget to size your screening window to the size of the application (browser for instance), and set diemensions to 1024 x 720 for best optimization :)
Also, don't forget to create your site maps, so your videos rank higher naturally.

It's definitely the best IMO. I've been on board with this software for about 4 years now and love it.

What is the difference between Camtasia & Apple's QuickTime?

Camtasia is awesome, the only thing that gets people is the price point.

That resolution should be set to
    1280x720
    for a 720p video
    or 1920x1080
    for a 1080p video.
What is meant with "creating site maps"??

Camtasia certainly has a stellar reputation but the price is steep for beginners. I will research the AVS mentioned earlier maybe I can upgrade to Camtasia in the future

i've used camtasia in the past and it's one of the easiest programs to use to create your own video tutorials. torrents are your friend if you can't afford it.
